The Local Government Area Welfare Scheme (LGA-WS) is a welfare and retirement supplement solidarity scheme for all workers (Public & Private Sector) and Assembly Members operating within all the 261 Local Government Areas (Metropolitan/Municipal/District Assemblies – MMDAs) across the country. The Scheme receives a monthly deduction of not less than Fifty Ghana Cedis (Ghc 50) as basic contributions from the salary or allowances of members through a check-off system.
